The Geneva Fire Department took delivery of the city’s new ladder truck. The new 2022 Pierce Ascendant 100’ Tower Ladder will replace the aged 2000 Pierce Sky Arm. The new apparatus is equipped with a 2000 Gallon per minute water pump, ground ladders, firefighting tools and a 100’ aerial ladder.
This apparatus was designed by a committee of Geneva firefighters and a team from Pierce and Churchville Fire Equipment. It has the latest safety standards and was built with a patented TAK-4 Suspension to accommodate the city’s narrow and tight intersections.
As in the past, this is the primary response apparatus for the C.J. Folger Hook & Ladder Company and its members. The Department will spend the next few weeks training on this new piece of equipment and the career staff will undergo certification training from the engineers of the manufacturer before placing it in service.
