EmPower New York - New York State Energy Research & Development Authority (NYSERDA)
EmPower New York provides energy saving services to both homeowners and renters. EmPower New York can help you lower your energy costs by replacing your old-style lighting, replacing your inefficient refrigerators and freezers, adding insulation to your home, and air sealing to help reduce drafts. Federal Income Tax Credits for Energy Efficiency
A variety of income tax credits are available to residential energy efficiency purchases. Tax credits are available for purchases made in 2015 and 2016. Find out about available tax credit programs on the Energy Star website.
Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP)
HEAP is a federally-funded program that helps low-income people pay the cost of heating their home. This program can also help with the repair or replacement of your furnace, boiler, or other heating components. Weatherization Assistance Program
The Weatherization Assistance Program helps low-income families to reduce their energy bills by making their homes more energy efficient. NYSERDA provides many resources to assist businesses in reducing their energy costs including:
- Flexible Technical Assistance (FlexTech) Program - Complete an energy study of your building to help identify and evaluate opportunities to reduce energy costs.
- Multifamily Performance Program - A Multifamily Solutions Provider will work with you to evaluate building systems and customize a plan designed to deliver a minimum of 25% energy savings.
- Small Business Energy Efficiency Program - NYSEG offers eligible small business free energy assessments and up to 70% of the cost of recommended equipment upgrades
- Energize NY Finance Flyer - Printable Flyer (PDF)
It is the policy of the City of Geneva to achieve energy efficiency and renewable energy goals, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and advance a clean energy economy. The City can fulfill this policy by providing property assessed clean energy (PACE) financing to commercial property owners in the City of Geneva for the installation of renewable energy systems and energy efficiency measures.
