About the Geneva City Clerk’s Office

The City Clerk’s office is currently located in downtown Geneva. Office hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday – Friday. For marriage licenses, please arrive by 3:30 p.m.

Two employees, the City Clerk and the Deputy City Clerk, are committed to supplying information, knowledge, reference and cooperation to the general public, all departments and elected officials.

The City Clerk records all vital statistics in the City (births, deaths and marriages) and records the minutes of all City Council meetings. The City Clerk is also the Records Management Officer and processes all Freedom of Information requests and claims for distribution to the proper departments.

The Office issues several licenses: ∙ dog licenses ∙ marriage
∙ peddlers/solicitors ∙ trash collectors
∙ taxi owner ∙ taxi operator
∙ bingo and games of chance licenses
∙ coin amusement devices

Cemetery records for both Washington and Glenwood Cemeteries are recorded in the office.
Records for St. Mary’s Cemetery (Town of Geneva) and St. Patrick’s Cemetery are kept at the Our Lady of Peace Parish Offices – (315) 789-7180.
