DPW Offers Free Mulch to Residents
Wood mulch is being made available to Geneva residents as part of our ongoing yard waste recycling program at the Resource Recovery Park located at Doran Avenue. All of your tree, leaf and brush debris collected by DPW highway crews is ground annually for reuse. Making this material available for reuse saves landfill space and provides a valuable commodity for residents.
Beginning May 12, 2021 through June 12, 2021, City of Geneva will have a limited amount of free wood mulch available to residents for both this spring and again later in the fall. We urge residents to follow Social Distancing Guidelines while collecting wood mulch. Please bring your shovels and containers to self-load out of a bulk mulch pile during the Closed Loop Systems hours of operation which are currently 9AM to 5PM Wednesday and Saturday.
Please note: Wood chip mulch made available through this program is intended for Geneva residents only. Commercial contractors are asked to refrain from removing mulch. If anyone witnesses a contractor removing mulch, please contact the City of Geneva Engineering Department at 315-789-3101 with a license plate number or company name so we may contact them.
