City Of Geneva Seeks IT/Website Intern

The City of Geneva is looking for a website and content management intern.

We are looking for an eager and savvy Intern to work with our IT and Communications and Engagement team to help us achieve web design and marketing goals. Areas of focus will include onsite technical improvements, offsite improvements (citations and inbound links), and supporting content strategy.

We are dedicated to the ongoing growth of our employees. Through this internship, you will have the opportunity to create ideas independently and within a team structure while gaining valuable experience in a fast paced work environment. The applicant who fills this role will work directly with experienced professionals and join a team that is fun and collaborative.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and optimize onsite elements
  • Assess and enhance offsite inbound links, citations, and directory records
  • Identify relevant and valuable content and direct people to that
  • Assist with website improvements related to content and design
  • Assist with Social Media efforts to improve our reach

Requirements

  • Basic working knowledge of WordPress-based websites and Google Analytics
  • Strong desire to learn along with professional drive
  • Social media strategy/implementation experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrable ability to adhere to deadlines and multi-task
  • Self-driven and effective at personal time management
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Flexible; some evenings or events attendance maybe be needed

Education

  • Currently enrolled in or completed Undergraduate in field related to IT, Website design, Marketing, Communications, or Business.
