City Announces Return to Winter Parking Pilot Program
The City of Geneva will return to a notification based winter parking program, which allows residents to utilize on-street parking from 2 A.M. to 6 A.M. from Dec. 1 to Apr. 1, unless an overnight parking ban due to winter weather has been declared by the city.
Effective immediately, the winter parking restrictions prohibiting residents from parking overnight on city streets from Dec. 1 to Apr. 1 have been lifted. Residents must continue to adhere to year-round sign specific restrictions on posted streets throughout the City. Parking lots throughout the City also have sign specific parking regulations for residents and visitors to follow to allow for winter snow removal.
Official notification of an overnight parking ban will be posted exclusively on the City’s homepage (cityofgenevany.com) for the foreseeable future, while city staff continue to work on alternative notification systems. Residents will be updated of any future opt-in notification system. Anyone with questions regarding the winter parking regulations can reach out to Adam Blowers (acb@geneva.ny.us). The City thanks residents and visitors for their cooperation in helping to ensure streets are able to stay well plowed and accessible during the winter season.
